Short version: we may earn a commission when you buy through some of our links, at no extra cost to you, and that commission never changes your price or what we recommend. How we choose what to recommend

Our product picks are grounded in the same established pool-chemistry references as the rest of our content, not in which item pays the most. We recommend the lower-cost, lower-effort fix first, and we leave out products the science doesn't support (for instance, we don't push phosphate removers or copper-based algaecides as routine buys). A commission is never a reason to recommend something.
